Surrounded by Olive Groves and Vineyards, Lorgues is an attractive market town with numerous fountains, cafés and restaurants. There is a large provençal market every Tuesday. With its unforgettable gastronomy and cultural delights, Provence offers something for everyone. Villages nestled in the countryside and landscapes varying from high mountain regions to a beautiful azur coastline, hosting many a renowned resort such as St Tropez, Cannes, Nice or Antibes. Discover the corniche des Maures with its hidden creeks and beaches. Further inland, explore the grottos and pretty villages in the hills (Haut Var) around Aups. Drive to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (known for its earthernware) and feast your eyes on the beautiful lavender fields en route. An hour’s drive away is the Vaucluse region and the beautiful villages of the Côtes du Rhône wine region. The wild Camargue with its famous white horses, fighting bulls and Flamingoes is also only an hour or so away. Take a morning trip to the market of St Tropez or tour around the Gorges-du-Verdon, where you can stop off whenever you wish to dip into the clear blue waters. Of course, you could always just pour yourself a glass of chilled local rosé, find a hammock under an Olive tree and read a good book whilst listening to the soothing sound of the Cicadas.
